The BlendTokyo Event Series

What is BlendTokyo?

BlendTokyo is an innovative networking event series designed to foster connections between Japanese professionals and foreigners living in Japan. Born from a collaboration initiated by Gary Ikebe (池部 慎二), the series brings together key figures in the Tokyo networking scene: Jun Matsumoto (松本 淳), one of Japan's most connected individuals on LinkedIn, and Jason Ball, the founder of the Business In Japan Community, which has over 92,000 members, along with Japan Travel Influencer Shingo Nakamura.

The concept behind BlendTokyo is simple yet powerful: to "blend" our networks and create a casual, welcoming environment where participants can challenge themselves and engage in meaningful conversations. This initiative aims to help Japanese professionals who are eager to expand their horizons and connect with individuals who have global experiences.

The first event took place after Gary's insightful proposal, and since then, we have hosted three successful gatherings, with the fourth event scheduled for May 9th, 2025.

Why Join BlendTokyo?

BlendTokyo provides a unique platform for networking, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Participants have the opportunity to:
👉 Engage with a diverse group of professionals from various industries.
👉 Practice English (or your Japanese) in a supportive environment.
👉 Discuss business opportunities and innovations in Japan.
👉 Build lasting connections that extend beyond the event.

Who Should Attend: Japanese professionals, foreign residents, and anyone interested in expanding their network in and related to Japan.

Feedback from past attendees highlights the value of this format. One participant noted that BlendTokyo allows for frank discussions that often lead to valuable insights and new perspectives.

This is an excellent opportunity to welcome in the warmer months and connect with influential figures such as Jason Ball, Shingo Nakamura, Gary Ikebe, Oguzhan Kara and Matt Ainsworth along with other global professionals in their network and across Japan.
